CDS assisted in organizing a new co-op in the college town of Morris, Minnesota. In order to preserve a small art deco theater when the owner retired, the community of about 5,000 people purchased the theater and formed a consumer-owned co-op with the help of CDS.

Cooperative Development Services helped the co-op organize a membership drive, establish articles and by-laws, and develop a business plan. Thanks to the efforts of the community, the theatre has remained open since its purchase last winter.
