Bowdon Co-op Grocery Store

The Rural Electric and Telecommunications Development Center has been providing technical assistance to the community of Bowdon in an attempt to convert their grocery store to a cooperative owned by the residents and leased to a manager/operator.

The equity drive meetings have been held and they have successfully raised the funds needs. They will now move forward with their plans by completing a business plan that includes the reinvigoration of the locker plant. The cooperative is in the process of closing on the purchase agreement.

They will now focus on building a business plan that includes the reinvigoration of the locker plant. We will be searching for grants or low interest money to help them make this happen.
