Types of Membership

Member-Individual: Any natural person that engages in cooperative development; services cooperative development centers as a consultant, accountant or lawyer; or supports cooperative development practitioners in any other way is eligible. Each Member-Individual has full member privileges and is entitled to and responsible for one vote on all matters (except for certain approvals of annual dues applicable to other classes) and serves on the CW board of directors. For 2009, the individual dues are $350.

Member-Institutional: A center for cooperative development or other legal entity that engages in cooperative development or supports cooperative development practitioners are eligible. Every employee, board member and consultant of the Member-Institutional is eligible for membership and must state in writing, at the time of annual dues payment, the names of every person the Member-Institutional designated to have full member privileges and responsibilities. Each person the Member-Institutional designates will represent the Member-Institutional on the CW board of directors. For 2009, the institutional dues are $3,500.

Member-Representative: A legal entity eligible to be a Member-Institutional, that is prevented by law or policy from become a member or holding a membership in its own name, may join through this class. The guidelines are the same as the Member-Institutional, with the same dues of $3,500 for 2009.
