CooperationWorks! (CW) is a member-owned service cooperative. The foundation of CW is built on the participation of its members.
There are three classes of membership in CW: 1) Individual; 2) Institutional; and 3) Representative. All members serve on the board of directors and all are encouraged to participate in a circle (committee) to help carry out the work of CooperationWorks!
Individual Member: Any natural person who engages in cooperative development; services cooperative development centers as an accountant or lawyer, or supports cooperative development practitioners in any other way is eligible. Each Individual Member has full member privileges and is entitled to and responsible for one vote on all matters (except for certain approvals of annual dues applicable to other classes) and serves on the CW board of directors. For 2011, the Individual Member dues are $350.
Institutional Member: A center for cooperative development or other legal entity that engages in cooperative development or supports cooperative development practitioners are eligible. Every employee, board members and consultant of the Institutional Member is eligible for membership and must state in writing, at the time of the annual dues payment, the names of every person the Institutional Members designated to have full member privileges and responsibilities. Each person the Institutional Member designates will represent the Institutional Member on the CW board of directors. For 2011, The Institutional Member dues are $3,000 for returning members. For new members the first- year dues are $1,000 (or one-third) and second-year dues are $2,000 (or two-thirds).
Representative Member: A legal entity eligible to an Institutional Member, that is prevented by law or policy from becoming a member or holding a membership in its own name, may join through this class. The guidelines are the same as the Institutional Member. The Institutional Member dues are $3,000 for returning members. For new members the first-year dues are $1,000 (or one-third) and second-year dues are $2,000 (or two-thirds).
