Multi-Stakeholder cooperatives (also known as social co-ops and/or solidarity co-ops) are a relatively new co-op model in the United States, but one of the fastest growing co-op sectors in other countries. The model allows for co-op members from two or more ‘stakeholder’ groups including consumers, producers, workers, volunteers or general community supporters, to work together in a democratic structure of ownership and control to achieve mutual goals.
